Education & Professional Licensure
I graduated with honors as a Certified Massage Therapist in 2004. I am National Board Certiified in Therapeutic Massage (NCTM). I am licensed in both Illinois and Missouri. I specialize in relaxation therapy, back, shoulder, and neck pain, migraine relief, and deep tissue massage, I have additional training in Healing Touch Levels 1 & 2. I am certified in CPR.
Professional Work Experience
I have work experience in a variety of venues including Ascension Healthcare - working at associate health fairs and providing corporate chair massage; at spas including: Angel's Day Spa, and Luminosity Day Spa. I have worked at several Crop Camps for scrapbooking enthusiasts who want to crop 'til they drop. Bridal events and "spa nights" at homes provide a pampering atmosphere. I have worked with several athletes from marathon runners to an ironman competitor. I have done work in hospitals for maternity patients and provided in-home hospice care massage. I have also supervised MIMT student outreach events such as student health fairs, Big Brothers/Big Sisters fundraisers, and have experience in supervising the MIMT student clinic at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. My internship was completed through Southwestern Illinois College - Midwest Institute. Over 100 clinical hours were performed utilizing clinical massage, SOAP charting, treatment plans, and stress management/stretching counsel.
Professional Membership Association
I am a member in good standing of the Association of Bodywork and Massage Professionals (AMBP) since 2003.
